Sponsorship

Felton Grimwade & Bosisto's Pty Ltd undertakes a wide variety of sponsorship, charity and community initiatives to raise money for non-profit organisations.

Sponsorship & Prizes
FGB donates sponsorship prizes to community activities nationally throughout the year. A variety of groups have been assisted including; Sports Centres, Community Groups, Hospitals, Kindergartens, Schools and Playgroups.

Donations
FGB Company and staff are committed to raising funds for non-profit organisations.
Due to staff involvement and concern, FGB promotes two key support groups:

  • Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, raising money and awareness for cancer research.
  • Jeans for Genes Day that raises money and awareness for the Children's Medical Research Institute for its vital research programmes into understanding the causes of diseases and illnesses in children.

Any monies raised by the staff is matched by a Company donation of equal or greater value.

Due to one staff members interest and involvement, FGB has also supported and donated money to Deaf Ministries International. This group helps raise money for children in third world countries who are deaf. It provides money to build schools to educate these children and provide them with a language and the power of communication. Each year we hold a “Christmas in July” for FGB Staff which has proved very successful.

Local Community Activity
Bosisto’s Eucalyptus continues to be a proud sponsor of activities within the Inglewood and Wedderburn area where Bosisto’s harvests the Blue Mallee (Eucalyptus Polybractea).

Sponsorship activities include donating to the Blue Eucy Festival, a celebration of the local area including eucalyptus oil and the Blue Mallee. Donations are also made to the football club, school, sports club and other charity organisations in the community.

FGB also sponsor a number of local community activities including the Tea Tree Oil Fishing Competition on the Mornington Peninsula in Vic and the Wedderburn Detector Jamboree Festival in Wedderburn, Vic.

FGB is also committed to encouraging and supporting eucalyptus oil use and the eucalyptus oil industry. Bosisto’s has been “first in eucalyptus since 1852” and remains market leader with vision to continue building the long-term viability of the industry in Australia.

Royal Botanic Gardens
Commencing in 2006, FGB is a proud sponsor of the Royal Botanic Gardens of Melbourne and Cranbourne. Sponsorship involves the donation of Euca-Mulch to both Gardens and a close association to the new Australian Garden development in Cranbourne, specifically their new “Eucalypt Walk”. This involves signage in the Eucalypt Walk. Expanded activities in 2007 include promotions in both Garden shops, a talk on Eucalyptus Oil and preliminary discussions regarding an educational mobile distillation still.

In 2008 the aim is to finalise and have an operational distillation still for school groups. On-going talks to groups including Friends of the Gardens will also help strengthen the relationship.

The RBG was chosen as a key sponsorship of Bosisto’s in part due to a long historical association. In 1852, Baron Ferdinand von Mueller - a Victorian Government Botanist who was fascinated with the properties of eucalyptus oil - encouraged a young pharmacist named Joseph Bosisto to set up Australia's first commercial eucalyptus oil distillery, near Menzies creek in Dandenong.  Thus Bosisto’s Eucalyptus Oil began.

Over 150 years later, Bosisto's has come full circle by assisting the Royal Botanic gardens to celebrate and preserve this unique piece of Australian history for future generations.

Wedderburn – Stew Pot and Museum
Robyn Vella from Wedderburn Tourism along with her family is a passionate advocate of eucalyptus oil production in the Wedderburn / Inglewood region. Together with her father Robbie and co-operation from Wedderburn Tourism they have constructed a Eucy Stew-Pot  on Hard Hat Hill Tourist Reserve in Wedderburn and have established it as a tourist destination. Almost 1000 visitors per year visit the site and learn about the history, production and uses of eucalyptus oil.

Wedderburn Tourism also has a vision to establish a museum dedicated to the history, production and uses of eucalyptus oil in the Wedderburn / Inglewood region. We are in regular communication with Robyn to help establish this Museum and are assisting through donation, information and consultation.

Inglewood – Jones’ Distillery
In 2004 FGB purchased the famous Eucy distillery site on the edge of Inglewood. Traditionally referred to in the area as the Jones’ site (brothers Albert and Phil) it is a well-known icon of Inglewood. The original plan for the site was a Eucalyptus Museum created as a tourism site and managed by FGB. However, due to our subsequent establishment of an agreement with the RBG, a decision was made to donate the site in to the township of Inglewood on the provision that part of the site was used to highlight the eucalyptus oil industry in its importance in the area and that a plaque was erected signed “donated by Bosisto’s Eucalyptus”. Having the township taking control and ownership of the project gives it a greater chance of success and it also allows government funding from the Shire, State and Federal level. The aim of the site is to create a tourist “stop-over” point to educate and entertain but also to provide an economic boost to the town. This occurred in 2006.
