DIY Thursday: lavender & coconut body scrub
25 Nov 2014
Whether you’re donning a flirty frock or a pair of shorts a body scrub is the perfect way to banish dry, flaky skin and keep your pins in top condition. It's also vital if you're planning to self-tan, because exfoliating first helps make your tan more even and last longer.
This gorgeous exfoliating scrub uses magnesium-rich Epsom salts, nourishing coconut oil and skin-loving lavender which help boost circulation, remove any rough patches and reveal soft, smooth skin – not just on your legs but all over.
Bosisto’s lavender & coconut body scrub
2 cups coconut oil (from health food shops or in the health food aisle of supermarkets)
1 cup Epsom salts (at pharmacies or the health & beauty aisle of supermarkets)
20 drops of Bosisto’s Lavender Oil
Add coconut oil, Epsom salt and essential oil to a small bowl and mix with a spoon until well combined. Store in a wide-necked jar or container with a tight-fitting lid until ready to use.
Note: If you use this in the shower, make sure you clean the base of the shower to ensure it’s oil-free so the next person doesn’t get a slippery surprise.
...Planning to self-tan or spray tan? An exfoliating scrub like this is a must-have, because tanning lotions will develop unevenly where there are thick, rough patches of skin. Removing any dead, flaky surface skin will also help extend the life of your tan as it delays cell turnover and resulting loss of colour. Want more lovely leg tips?
