Women’s handbags are contaminated with more bacteria than the average toilet, a new study has revealed.
Tests showed that one in five handbag handles is home to sufficient bacteria to pose a risk to human health. Leather handbags were the most bacteria-ridden as the spongy texture provides the perfect conditions for bacteria to grow.
Research also revealed that the dirtiest item in the average handbag is hand cream.
But before you ditch your Dolce & Gabbana, don’t forget dangers lie elsewhere as well. Game consoles, bicycles and children’s toys are all also worse than the loo for lurking nasties, with the backyard trampoline trumping the lot in terms of germs!
Researchers said women should regularly clean their bags to prevent cross-contamination – or, why not try an easy and fragrant solution – a quick spray of Eucalyptus?
Bosisto’s Eucalyptus Spray has been proven to kill 99.99 percent of household germs including E.coli (the most common germ found on children’s toys) and salmonella. Spray anywhere fingers regularly touch including door handles, computer keyboards, TV remotes, IPhones and tablets. And of course, handbags!
Don’t forget a pocket-sized version for on the go hygiene… Bosisto's Eucalyptus Spray 30g is perfect for spraying public surfaces such as restrooms, shopping trolley handles and food court high chairs when you’re out and about.
Best of all, eucalyptus oil is naturally-derived with no harsh chemicals that might trigger asthma or allergies.
