Interesting info

Bosisto’s Eucalyptus Oil contains Eucalyptus polybractera (Blue Mallee), grown at Bosisto’s own plantations in rural Victoria.   This species has a distinctive clean, fresh fragrance which is stronger and longer lasting than other eucalyptus oils, and is a premium quality pharmaceutical grade oil perfect for a variety of therapeutic, personal and household uses.

How to use

Personal Uses:

Head Cold and Flu

As an inhalation to help relieve coughs and colds add 15 - 20 drops of the Oil to a bowl of steaming hot water and inhale vapour covering head with a towel. Sprinkle a few drops on a handkerchief to make it easier to breathe.

Children's Colds

Gently massage the Oil on to the child's chest and back to help clear air passages and make it easier to breathe. For very young children, dilute the Oil with an equal part of olive oil or other vegetable oil.

Arthritic or Muscular Pain, Sprains and Strains

Gently massage into affected areas until a sensation of warmth is felt. Use before exercise as a warming, soothing liniment to loosen muscles.

Insect Bites

To get quick relief from the pain of insect bites, apply directly to site. Do not rub in.

Bath and Foot Bath

Add to bath water to invigorate and give a feeling of well-being. A teaspoon in a foot bath gives comforting relief to sore and aching feet.

Hand Cleaner

Excellent for cleaning hands and skin of unpleasant smells. Particularly useful to eliminate meaty and fishy odours and for people handling grease or oil.

Add to give your sauna a fresh clean bushland fragrance. Add to water for splashing on hot stones or around sauna.

Adhesive Bandages

Dampen adhesive bandages and sticking plaster with Bosisto’s Eucalyptus Oil for an easy and painless way of removing from the skin.

Household Uses:

Spot and Stain Remover

Remove oil soluble grease and grass marks, spots and stains from clothes, carpets and fabric with an Oil moistened cloth. Where possible, place an absorbent cloth under the stained area. By brushing towards the centre of the mark you will prevent the formation of a ring. Bosisto's Eucalyptus Oil is generally harmless to material and it does not stain or smear. It is recommended to patch test a small area first.

Washing Woollens

To keep woollens soft and fluffy follow the below tried and tested recipe:

Pure Soap Flakes

½ packet

Methylated Spirits

1 cup

Bosisto’s Eucalyptus Oil

1 bottle

Mix methylated spirits with soap flakes. Add Bosisto’s Eucalyptus Oil and stir. Store in wide necked screw capped jar (large coffee jar). Shake well. Use one tablespoon mixture per garment. Dissolve in small quantity hot water and then pour into lukewarm wash water. Hand or machine wash on wool cycle.

No need to rinse unless white garments are to be stored for a long period (rinsing reduces the risk
of yellowing). Squeeze and roll in towel to remove excess water. Keep garments in shape while drying out of direct sunlight.

Washing Clothes, especially Work Clothes and Nappies

Clean and freshen by adding a teaspoonful or two of Bosisto's Eucalyptus Oil to each load or use the wool recipe. Ideal for overalls, sportswear, socks and nappies.

Linoleum / Floors

Add a teaspoon of Bosisto's Eucalyptus Oil to the water when washing floors. It's great for cleaning and deodorising and it smells good too.

A teaspoonful of Bosisto's Eucalyptus Oil in toilets or drains is a good antibacterial cleaner, freshener and deodoriser.

Chewing Gum, Paint, Ball-Point Ink Marks

You can quickly remove gum, paint and ball-point
ink marks from clothes, shoes and furnishings with
a cloth soaked with Bosisto's Eucalyptus Oil.

Plastic and Vinyl

Excellent for cleaning ink, carbon and other marks off plastic and vinyl. Prior to application, test in small unseen section to check the Oil doesn't affect material.

Tar Marks on Paintwork of Motor Vehicles

Remove tar marks by rubbing with an Oil moistened cloth.

Garden Spray

Eucalyptus Garden Spray has become very popular with home gardeners because it is safe, natural and non-residual. You can mix your own spray by using the easy-to-make formula set out below:

Bosisto’s Eucalyptus Oil

1 teaspoon

Dishwashing Liquid (any)

1-2 squirts

1-2 cups

Spray around seedlings and at the base of plants. Repeat as necessary. Ideal for earwigs, slugs, snails and slaters. Do not store made up spray. Thoroughly wash sprayer after use.

Insect Repellent

Bosisto's Eucalyptus Oil is a good mosquito repellent. As it burns like kerosene, try it alone or mixed with kerosene in flares, lanterns and lamps.

Bosisto's Eucalyptus Oil is 100% pure pharmaceutical grade eucalyptus oil. Eucalyptus polybractea (Blue Mallee) is produced in Victoria from a unique 5000 hectare native forest. It is a natural oil steam distilled. The crude oil is later re-distilled to remove any impurities and to improve the keeping qualities of the oil.

No artificial additives, aromas or flavourings are used.

Bosisto's Eucalyptus Oil has the distinctive clean, fresh fragrance of the Australian bush. Its fragrance is stronger and lasts longer than other eucalyptus oils.

Bosisto's Eucalyptus Oil complies with all the standards listed in the British Pharmacopoeia, the U.S. National Formulary and the European Pharmacopoeia.
